Prompts and MORE! This set of 12 informational expository writing prompts are ideal for use in 6th - 8th grade. This resource provides a starter sample with a complete outline for informational expository writing, a graphic organizer, checklist for organization, sentence structure cues, and details moves to ensure voice in writing. Sample hooks and parting thoughts are provided for the initial sample as well as a sample essay and 2 collaborative writing opportunities for the first prompt. Each prompt includes a text stimulus, Think, Write, and Be Sure To statement. Each Write statement includes an extension as outlined in STAAR specifications. In addition, this package includes an outline, planning organizer, and checklist for writing expository compositions. Prompts are formatted for use in formal test settings. Prompts meet Common Core Standards and STAAR specifications. Middle school grades need support and this resource provides everything you need.
