Product Description
Inferencing is a challenging skill to teach, so resources that make it easier are in high demand. This product is perfect for you because it's low prep, and it contains interactive game-like activities for practice. Your students will improve at making and expressing inferences in no time!

***************************************************************************

What awesome inference activities are included?
★ Graphic organizer included to help students organize their responses
★ Visual aid to assist students in understanding how to develop inferences
★ Spin-and-Say worksheets: Create a spinner using a pencil and a paper clip. Poke a hole in the center of the spinner using the pencil point. Then, place the pencil point in the loop of the paper clip. Next, place the point in the hole created in the center of the spinner. All that is left is to spin the paper clip! Students can spin the paper clip to select a sequence to express.
★ Inferencing Chutes and Ladders-type game: Print and laminate. Grab a die or a spinner and game pieces. Students can begin at “start” and follow the arrows around the board to the “finish” box. When they land on a space, they must express an inference to answer the questions represented in that space.

How should you use this product?
★ Print, laminate, and cut apart the scenario cards.
★ For each scenario card selected, have students express the clues noticed, the question asked, and their inference.

What does the evidence say about working on inferencing?Evidence shows the importance of using explicit instruction for teaching students to read between the lines and to attend to details they might not normally attend to. Higher level thinking skills may be difficult to teach, but most studies have shown positive results in a short period of time. (Elleman, 2017).
