This is a great enrichment worksheet! Perfect for early finishers (after students have an understanding of writing and simplifying expressions). It can be used for math centers. I gave it to students who needed more challenging work, while I worked with a smaller group of students.
Students work with partners to complete five tasks for 3 different expressions.
Task 1: Write expressions from a word problem, including a simplified expression to represent a total amount
Task 2: Simplify each expression for the variable = 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Write solutions in a t-table
Task 3: Graph the values on a coordinate graph
Task 4: Set up equations for each expression being equal to 34. Solve each equation.
Task 5: Compare the solutions to the equation to the graphs.
