Description
This Expressions & Equality Unit is based on the 2005 Ontario Curriculum Expectations for Math and includes lesson ideas, activities, worksheets, task cards, and a test.
It covers making sets of objects that are the same as, greater than, or less than the original set, and showing equality by balancing both sides of a scale.

Lesson Ideas
There are 3 pages of Lesson Ideas in this package. In each section you will see the expectation to be covered, a short paragraph or two of what/how you can teach the concept, and follow up worksheets or activities/centers that go with the expectation covered.
Worksheets
There are several worksheets that deal with comparing numbers (equal, less than, greater than) and balancing scales (equality).
Make a Number Math Center
This hands on center comes with 12 full page mats. Students can use plastic centimeter cubes or any other small counters to make numbers equal to, less than, and greater than the numbers shown.
Unit Test
The unit includes a 2 page written test with answers.
