What could be better than reinforcing Math strategies and processes with a cooperative game? According to my students....nothing!
Your students can use this activity to practice evaluating expressions with 1-2 variables, and 1-2 operations, with a Tic-Tac-Toe twist!
Ask your students to work in pairs and give each student a Tic-Tac-Toe board. Once they choose whether to be the “X” or “O,” they’re ready to begin playing!
Students will take turns choosing boxes to place their letter. Then, both students will evaluate the expression. The student whose “turn” it is gets to place their letter in the box!
This activity includes expressions with all 4 operations using 1-2 variables, and 1-2 operations per expression.
