    These expressions, equations, inequalities note pages are aligned to the 6th grade math common core standards. There are 9 sets of notes included. They are sized for composition books /interactive notebooks. However, when printing you can choose โ€œfit to pageโ€ if you would like note pages that are larger in size!

    Included in this resource:

    To use these pages:

    Review information with students. These are not your regular step 1, step 2,step 3 note pages. Go through them in the order your students need! You may start filling in information at the bottom of a page rather than the top. You may start on the left side instead of the right. There is no โ€œcorrectโ€ order. These notes are meant to help anchor student learning by providing clear, concise, engaging notes. Doodling and/or coloring should always be encouraged!

Recognize that inequalities of the form ๐˜น > ๐˜ค or ๐˜น < ๐˜ค have infinitely many solutions; represent solutions of such inequalities on number line diagrams.
    Solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations of the form ๐˜น + ๐˜ฑ = ๐˜ฒ and ๐˜ฑ๐˜น = ๐˜ฒ for cases in which ๐˜ฑ, ๐˜ฒ and ๐˜น are all nonnegative rational numbers.
    Use variables to represent numbers and write expressions when solving a real-world or mathematical problem; understand that a variable can represent an unknown number, or, depending on the purpose at hand, any number in a specified set.
    Understand solving an equation or inequality as a process of answering a question: which values from a specified set, if any, make the equation or inequality true? Use substitution to determine whether a given number in a specified set makes an equation or inequality true.
    Identify when two expressions are equivalent (i.e., when the two expressions name the same number regardless of which value is substituted into them). For example, the expressions ๐˜บ + ๐˜บ + ๐˜บ and 3๐˜บ are equivalent because they name the same number regardless of which number ๐˜บ stands for.
