When I teach Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, I find that my students can sometimes have a difficult time keeping track of the various timelines and narrators. In this packet, I've broken down the reading into 16 sections and have comprehension and discussion questions for each chapter. I use the questions to not only check for understanding but to stimulate discussion. The questions require students to really think about the text in a more meaningful way. I find the chapter by chapter approach to be the best way to tackle what can often be a confusing novel for many students.
