Introduce your students to the beloved author Ezra Jack Keats and his many well known children’s books. Students can easily make connections to the young characters, simple settings and every day events that occur in the books. These books lend themselves to the realistic fiction genre and are a great way to introduce characterization and begin an author study.
Book titles included in this unit are A Letter to Amy, The Snowy Day, Peter’s Chair, Dreams, Pet Show and Goggles.
