This is a FACEBOOK poster to reproduce for use in the classroom. This template took a lot more time to create than I thought it would but it was worth it! The kids loved using it, they learned something, and they loved teaching me things about FACEBOOK that I didn't know. It can be used for most grades and can be easily adapted to any subject area and grade-level. Since I created it, I've seen it used effectively in English, History, Science, Math, foreign language, fine arts, and music classes. It is easy to print and white-out categories to change them to suit your specific needs. It was easy to make copies with a standard copier on 18x24 paper but the size can be changed.
Initially, I created this for an eighth and ninth grade poetry project in which my students had to complete the posters for their specific poet and infer many of the answers based on research they performed on the poet's background, the poet's work, and the time period. It was fun for them and many of their poets were friends, relatives, influences, etc. so it encouraged them to interact with one another as well.
I also use it now in the classroom for every book we read. I posted a large, laminated version of it on the board and we complete it as a class for the authors of each of our books and stories. I have also used it for character sketches with the class. It could easily be used for other subjects too.
I chose to use a poster instead of a live FACEBOOK page because many of my students do not have access to computers at home and a few are not allowed to have FACEBOOK pages. They really enjoy this approach to learning and repeatedly ask if we can make another FACEBOOK page for new characters in stories and novels and of course I say yes.
Please rate this poster and offer any feedback. Thank you!
