Factor Quadratic Expressions Where A>1 Using Decomposition: Walk About Activity
This is a great activity to get students up and moving while practicing factoring complex quadratic expressions (all expressions contain a values greater than 1 and require decomposition to factor). Set up the 12 stations around your classroom (1 question per station) and distribute students among them. Students can either work individually, in pairs, or small groups to factor the expression at their station. Their final answer will lead them to their next station. A student handout is included in this product for students to record their station expressions and show their work.
While this is a fun way to get students moving and working at the same time, I understand it doesn't always work for every student, therefore, I have also included each of the station questions into a single page individual worksheet as well.
Note: All questions can be solved through factoring and the quadratic formula is not needed for any of these problems.
Included In Your Purchase:
→ 12 printable stations with one question and one answer each (2 stations per page)
→ Student Scavenger Hunt Recording Sheet
→ Individual Student Worksheet Version of Questions
→ Teacher Answer Key For Both The Scavenger Hunt and Worksheet To Make Marking Quick And Easy
This activity is also included in my FACTORING QUADRATIC EXPRESSIONS LESSON AND ACTIVITY BUNDLE
