Mini ESL unit about space. Students will discuss in pairs and as a class with two different speaking activities. They will learn 20 different vocabulary words related to space and astronomy. They will discover 8 amazing facts about space through wordle sentence formation. Pre-reading activity will lead your students to find out about Neil Armstrong and his accomplishment. Students will then fill the blank and read an article about the first man on the moon. The unit will conclude with a writing task.
♦♦♦ FACTS ABOUT SPACE ( SKILLS: SPEAKING, READING AND WRITING) ♦♦♦
: Students will learn plenty of new vocabulary words through engaging and challenging activities. They will work individually, in pairs or in small groups to include variety in lesson dynamics.
: While studying this mini unit, they will get their juices flowing while discussing about space travel, astronaut's lives and astronomy in general. They will learn 20 different words associated to the world of astronomy. They will also learn amazing facts about space, our solar system and earth through wordle sentence formation as well as read about Neil Armstrong through gap filling activities and a number of other reflective activities. They will, then, engage in a descriptive piece of writing to answer the questions “Are we alone?”.
