Product Description
This Math Centers Pack has 12 fun and engaging way for students to practice common core standards. Each math center game includes student friendly directions, a work sheet, and an answer key. Games are hands-on mats and cards in full color with autumn clip art and work sheets and answer keys are black and white. As a monitoring tool for teachers, I have added a student check off list and completion exit ticket certificate.
These math centers help students to practice first grade common math skills in an engaging way. All of these first grade math centers are aligned to the common core standards and make for great hands-on centers. Engagement is a crucial part to a successful math workshop model. If students are able to be independent and engaged it allows the teacher time to work with a small group of students. These games have multiple uses: independent practice, a guided math activity, test prep or assessment, whole group review, or for individual progress monitoring.
12 games, 12 worksheets, 12 answer key, Student check off list, Student’s exit ticket certificate
See below for a details on this pack:

1. Pumpkin Patch Number Order Game: order place number cards before and after a given number
a. 1.NBT.A.1 Extending the counting sequence- Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
2. Crow Addition: Solve the addition sentence then sort them under the sum
a. 1.OA.B.3 - Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. 1.OA.B.4 - Understand subtraction as an unknown-addend problem.
3. Ten Frame Match: Match the tens frame with the number
a. 1.OA.2 - Solve problems that call for addition of three whole numbers whose sum is less than or equal to 20
b. 1.OA.5&6
4. Fall Measurement: Look at the different objects, estimate the length then use the ruler to measure them to the nearest inch.
a. 1.MD.A.1 - Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
5. Leaf Double Addition Center Game: Solve the doubles addition fact and match it to the correct sum.
a. ¬ 1.OA.C.6 - Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that
6. Fact Family Math Center: Look and sort the four fact family sentences under the correct fact family.
a. 1.OA.B.3 - Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract.2 Examples: If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.)
7. True or False Sunflower Addition: Solve the equation then sort them under the correct header of True and False.
a. 1.OA.D.7 Understand the meaning of the equal sign, and determine it equation involving addition and subtraction are true or false
8. Scarecrow In A Row: Sort the number cards in the correct order on the mat.
a. 1.NBT.A.1 Extending the counting sequence- Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
9. Greater Than Or Less Than: Sort cards that are less than 15 and more than 15 on the mat
a. 1. NBT.B.3 - Compare two numbers and compare them with the symbols >, =, and <.
10. Monster Subtraction: Solve the subtraction sentences and sort the cards under the correct difference.
a. 1.OA.B.4 - Understanding subtraction as an unknown- addend problem
11. Fall Graph: Look at the mat with all the pictures of the different objects. Count the objects and graph them on the mat.
a. 1.MD.C.4 - Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.
12. Three Addend Addition: add the numbers in the 3 pumpkins and sort them on the mat.
a. 1.OA.C.6 - Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10.
