Need a way to share your classroom expectations with students without making them fall asleep? Let students do all the work rather than you!
I use this activity with my students in the first days of school to help them know more about me, my classroom, and how things run. Students are provided the opportunity to do a "scavenger hunt" on your classroom website of the rules and expectations you need them to know to have a successful year. Each student is assigned a specific question to research, then shares with their peers what they have learned. All students fill in a worksheet to keep these answers accessible all year long, and save you the trouble of losing your voice the first week of school! All you need to do is fill in any emphasis you want along the way.
PBIS Compatible - Help students truly learn the ins and outs of what you expect to become self-sufficient in your classroom. PBIS aims to support students from the beginning by providing expectations and practice upfront, even for those minor details we forget. Be sure to reinforce positive choices from this activity with your classroom/school-wide rewards system
Materials include an editable slideshow presentation, student handout, and instructions for suggested use.
