I always found myself wishing I could quickly give students more of a background on FDR before he swooped in to "save the day" with his New Deal. I created this biography in an effort to provide more context and to humanize FDR with stories of his youth as well as the physical, emotional, and political struggles he faced before winning the Presidency in 1932. The biography leaves off with FDR aggressively pursuing his "New Deal" in his "First 100 Days", allowing you to then study these topics more in depth. I included 2 different versions of the reading, one made for higher level readers and a slightly simplified version. Included are questions for students to answer as they read. The questions work for both reading levels.
