This activity begins by asking the students to think about the various ways that presidents connect with the general public today. Then, this product includes a general background on FDR's Fireside Chats. The activity includes listening to two excerpts from FDR's Fireside Chats: 1. Fireside Chat 1: On the Banking Crisis (1933), and 2. Fireside Chat 8: On Farmers and Laborers (1936). Students are then prompted to provide evidence from the primary source texts to a graphic organizer. Lastly, students are asked to summarize the purpose and impact of the chats. Ready to print and ready to use!
