Here students will listen to and read along with Franklin Delano Roosevelt's first 2min of his First Inaugural Address.
I used this as a warm up activity with my 8th grade students. The first time the audio clip played, students listened and annotated the speech. The second time the clip was played they flipped to the back and answered questions based upon the National Archives source analysis questions.
Students liked this activity because they like having audio, and the text in front of them. I liked this because it fostered conversation about the radio, and FDR's famous line "There is nothing to fear but fear itself".
Included in the speech, audio clip, and questions in PDF format.
