Looking for a way to get your students engaged with "THE" voice of the Great Depression, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt? This is the activity for you!
This "FDR Inaugural Address and Fireside Chat" Activity includes:
1) A set of questions that follow along with FDR's first inaugural address as well as his fireside chat on banking. Students will have the opportunity to listen to one of the greatest voices in American history describe his plans to help America get out of its darkest time in history. This activity includes the questions and a transcript of both speeches. We also include links to the audio for the speeches so you can play them in class for you students to listen to.
This activity will last an entire class period and gives you students a great opportunity to listen to FDR the same way Americans did at the depths of the Great Depression.
