The fifth grade NBT6 unit contains a study sheet and test for NBT6 (division). The study sheet and test has rigor and a spiral review-both that are needed for your state assessment. The unit also includes answer keys for each document.
Assessments include higher order questions in forms such as multiple choice, fill in the blank, short answer, written responses, and the drawing of models.
I give the study sheet a few days before the unit test. This gives students time to complete it as part of classwork or homework. Then, we go over the study guide to make sure all students understand how to complete each question. The unit test is similar to the study guide but with different numbers in the questions.
On the spiral review, I’ve included skills most commonly missed on prior assessments. Including the spiral review in each assessment allows students to work toward mastery of skills they have not already grasped and to keep skills fresh in students’ minds. This comprehensive unit provides much, if not all, that is needed to effectively teach the NBT 6 standards.
There are 4 working pages in this unit. The study guide is 2 pages long and the test is 2 pages long. Each has questions about the standard being tested and a spiral review which asks questions concerning skills previously taught. In this unit, the students have to answer questions using a variety of strategies. They also are required to use pictures to solve problems.
Answer keys are provided for the entire unit.
