Figurative Language Task Cards and anchor charts
including; Simile, Idioms, Hyperbole, Alliteration, Metaphor, Personification, Onomatopoeia and Irony.
Use these tasks for your writing centers and students will recognize, understand and easily use figurative language in their writing tasks.
Each set has an ,strong>instructional poster, or anchor chart,,/strong> explaining the concepts plus Task Cards
and a record or tracking sheet.
**Idiom Unit has 60 Task Cards.
**Hyperbole has 28.
**Simile, Alliteration, Metaphor, Personification, Irony and Onomatopoeia each have 32.
So at least 275 Task Cards!
Improve your students' writing and reading comprehension skills by teaching these concepts..
There is an option of US or English Spelling. Just print whichever you need.
After you've introduced a concept with the poster, you can place it on a display wall, in a resource folder or copy for students reference. It makes a great focal point for a wall display, surround by student's task work.
1. The Task Cards make great notebook/workbook activities.
2. They serve as idea starters for class or small group discussions.
3. Laminate a set to use as an activity in a literacy center.
4. Use them as assessment and/or homework tasks.
5. Use them as a Center Activity
