This is a fun activity to use when teaching figurative language. I use it with my students during our poetry unit. Students walk around the room with a partner and write down the example that fits with the correct type of figurative language. There are 2 examples for each (12 total). Each example has a sentence and a picture.
**I have a power point and/or flip book activity (sold separately) that I usually teach before this one.
Included in the PDF:
1. A double sided scavenger hunt graphic organizer where students need to fill in the definition and 2 examples of the following:
2. 2 examples of each of the types of figurative language mentioned above. Each example includes a sentence and a picture/visual. You can print them out and hang them around the room so students can search for them and write them down.
This is a great game that gets kids up and moving. They have fun while learning about figurative language.
