This is a set of 24 figurative language task cards presented in two formats (multiple choice and open response). Each card features a different figure of speech. Seven types of figurative language are featured on these cards: simile, metaphor, idiom, hyperbole, personification, onomatopoeia, and alliteration.

Set 2: Practice Figurative Language:

- Student Recording Sheet

These cards are perfect for learning to write seven common types of figurative language: Each card is numbered so students can easily track which cards they have completed. A student recording sheet is also included. The tasks on these cards are designed to be done without extra help or extra materials other than paper and pencil, and are mostly writing based to be completed in a reader’s notebook.

These cards will print in color or grayscale. Simply print and cut. Print on card stock or laminate to use them again and again. You can store and distribute cards using a baggie, or you can hole-punch each card and put them on ring/string.
