Students will find solutions of quadratic functions by graphing the parabola and identifying the x-intercepts. There is an example for the teacher to do with the students and four problems for students to practice identifying the solutions from a graph.
Students will also find solutions of quadratic functions from a table by identifying where y=0. There are two examples for the teacher to do with the students and two problems for students to practice identifying the solutions from a table.
Students will also recognize that solutions are the same distance apart from the vertex. For a few of the examples students are only given the vertex and one solution and need to use the concept of symmetry to identify the other solution.
