This product contains two games:
--- Set 1 - Mixed Numbers (61 cards)
--- Set 2 - Improper Fractions 61 cards)
Each game contains matching pairs. You can see the format of these in PREVIEW. Each set is quite big, so you can be selective in the pairs you want to consolidate with your learners. You can differentiate to target specific skill deficits by mixing the sets accordingly.
These games followed on from DONKEY FRACTIONS (halves, thirds, fifths and their multiples) and were a natural progression as earlier skills were mastered.
They are ideal for intervention and provide the semi-concrete transition from hands-on materials to abstract concepts that can be difficult for some students. Because the DONKEY game is so much fun it provides the repetition that consolidates the concepts efficiently. Putting them in a Maths Centre or using them in Maths Rotations would be ideal.
These games complement my intervention fraction programs CATCH-UP, KEEP-UP FRACTIONS AND DECIMALS and FRACTION FUN 1 (Years 1 and 2). Both programs have a screener to identify skill deficits for targeted intervention.
