No movie has ever truly depicted the creature that Mary Shelley described in her novel FRANKENSTEIN. Have your students use the quotes and passages included in this assignment to draw and color the creature exactly as Shelley described. This is truly more of an analytical assignment than an art assignment. Naturally, some students are more artistic than others, but through the years I have been amazed at how the least artistic student analyzed the creature's appearance based on Shelley's exact words. Some of my art students did exceed expectations, but this assignment allows all students to be successful. Yes, seniors love to draw and color!
