Encouraging students to be aware of classmate’s acts of kindness is one of the most important activities I’ve made routine in my classroom.
How to use this printable:
Laminate the Printable. Display it somewhere everyone can see like the classroom door. It should be at student eye level. When the teacher or other students catch someone doing an act of kindness (helping someone tie shoes, picking up trash, saying kind words, etc…), they need to tell the student who is the “Acts of Kindness Helper” for the week. That person can bring the other one to the printable using a dry erase marker and put the student‘s name on the printable. I let students choose a sticker, award or hug at the end of the day, if they made it on The Acts of Kindness board. *The student who did the act, may not ask to be on the board.
