Do your students need more guidance while practicing alphabetical order? The most common frustration my first graders would express, when given a list of words such as: apple, cat, dog, is, “There is no word starting with b!”
This page is designed to help those kids who still have such a literal grasp of the alphabet that they can’t mentally skip letters yet. Simply type or write their list of words in the box provided. Then, show student how to list the words beside the corresponding letter of the alphabet. This way they will see that their list of words is sorted even though not every letter needs a word. Students can then copy the words in alphabetical order neatly on the lines for additional practice.
This page is great for class work, a sub tub, or spelling homework practice.
