Description

FREE Build a Sentence Display/Center for Emergent Readers

This freebie uses some basic sentence structures/starters to help students build simple sentences. This would make a great center for Kindergarten or even Pre-Kindergarten students.

This file is part of our HUGE BUNDLE, I can Read Emergent Center Activities.

You can use the file in three ways:

1. Laminate and display sentence starters in your writing area as a writing prompt or in your guided reading sessions as you focus on one structure at a time.

2. Magnetic Sentences: Laminate and have children build the sentence using magnetic letters to form a new word.

3. Write and Wipe Sentences: Laminate the three pages, cut into strips (one for each child) and have children use a whiteboard/dry erase marker to write the rest of the sentence. Wipe it of with a cloth or an everyday eraser.
NB. You could also use this in your modeled sentence writing by placing magnets on the back.

The file includes:

~ A poster with all of the sentence structures.

~ Three pages with four sentence starters to a page.

~ Student instruction cards.

This file is for classroom use only and cannot be copied or redistributed. Copyright Clever Classroom 2014.
