For this activity students will use a current news article (internet link provided) and a periodic table to answer eight chemistry review questions. This set of questions are great for end of the year review or after each of the topics have already been covered. It can be used in a chemistry or physical science class. These types of questions have been very helpful to my students and have given them extra practice with reading passages. I plan on posting more activities like this soon. I would love to know how it goes in your classroom!
Students should have covered the following topics before completing this activity:
types of chemical reactions (single displacement, double displacement, decomposition, and synthesis reactions)
types of elements (nonmetal, metal etc)
neutrons, protons, and electrons
