Included In this Package:
Included in this set are 2 picture boards and 2 sets of cards. The picture boards can be made into file folder activities or attached to cardstock for backing. Velcro can be attached to the back of the cards or you can leave them as is. I highly recommend laminating everything, so it will be protected. (Not sure what I would do without a laminator…) As you know, especially in the Special Education classroom, there is no ‘right’ way to put together anything; you are free to do with this whatever works best for you.
Things That Could Be Helpful
The 2 activities in this set may be used as a supplement to the Edmark reading program, or simply used for sight word comprehension work. I liked the idea of matching phrases to pictures instead of just matching pictures to the words. Very useful.
Having used Edmark for a couple of years, I also felt like that program could use some supplemental “sprucing up.” (more activities on coming, too, by the way…) The activities in this set are similar to the format of the "picture/phrase cards" in Edmark but they do contain the following differences:
• Similar wording in phrases to force more phrase comprehension (less cheating by looking for j just the word)
• True to life pictures versus icons or cartoons

Contact me with any questions you may have, and or any suggestions to make this more user-friendly. Thank you for checking this out! Happy cutting and pasting and printing and laminating…
