Here are a few suggested uses for this print-and-go worksheet:
Assign students to work either solo or teams of two then have the students dig through the chapter or text book looking for items that fit each letter. Generally they will NOT be able to get them all but don't tell them. Throughout history there are many items that will fit if you just know what to look for, Tell that IF they can't find something then go to a dictionary and search for words starting with that letter that just might fit what they are looking for.
This quick fun assignment works great as an "intro" into chapter/text, a "through" the chapter/text, or even as an "after" a chapter/text review.
Assign the worksheet as classwork, homework, extra credit, or as sub work. You can even assign this a classwork by having student do two letters of grid then pass it off to next set of students look for two letters, and then they doing two letters and passing it off to next students and so on.
I hope you and your students enjoy this activity of Historical Alphabet.
