Students who can quickly recall mental math facts are able to enter future math classes with confidence and focus on new concepts without getting stuck on the arithmetic. This “Hidden Image” activity is designed for students to practice multiplication and supports Common Core standard 3.OA.C.7: Multiply and divide within 100.
Students reveal the hidden lion image by first solving each of the 64 problems in a worksheet. Then, students color each square in the image by matching the product to the correct color using the key at the bottom of the page. Consider using colored pencils, crayons, markers, or even squares of colored tissue paper to color each square.
These worksheets are great for early finishers, students who need extra practice, homework, or transition work at the start or end of class.
