Listening Activity (Nouns)
In the event of Shark Week, I am offering this Let’s Listen for Nouns activity focusing on the Whale Shark for Free. You can find similar products for Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives here
This activity aims to develop listening skills while reinforcing grammar concepts.
Read the passage to your students, pausing at the end of each sentence for students to process what they heard and identify the part of speech required in the sentence and write it down.
You may choose to read the passage a second time for students to pick up those words missed or to check their answers as you go.
The memorandum is provided in the form of a PowerPoint for self assessment or as a printable version for you to assess.
All ‘new’ nouns have been identified in the memorandums. Students are required to list 10 nouns from each paragraph. Some paragraphs have more than 10 nouns as plurals of the words have also been underlined. You can decide if you would accept the noun and its plural, or if all 10 nouns need to be different. The passages accommodate this option too. The PowerPoint memorandum is editable so you can edit the memo according to your method.
