About the video Out of Many, One
Out of Many, One is a Netflix-produced short documentary lasting about 30 minutes. It is currently available on the Netflix streaming service and since it is their own production, I would expect it to remain available there for a significant time to come.
I have used the video in class at a range of grade levels, using it to illustrate world cultures as well as the U.S naturalization process. I believe it can readily be incorporated into topics studied in social studies classes at any grade level 7th through 12th, making it a versatile addition to many school curricula.
INCLUDED IN THIS OUT OF ONE, MANY WORKSHEET AND VIDEO GUIDE
I’ve tried to provide teachers with a range of options for incorporating the video into their social studies classes. Depending on your particular learning standards and the needs of your students, you may want to use only one of the several activities. If you use all of them, I believe you could easily transform the video into a mini-unit on immigration and citizenship in 21st century America.
