Perspective Taking and Problem Solving:
Enjoy this free sample! This fun activity, in the style of a comic strip, will encourage your students to think about the ways that behaviors affect other's thoughts and feelings. Students are asked to look at the first picture (and listen to a short scenario for level 1) then fill in the speech/thought bubbles to go along with the scenario and picture. Next, students complete 2 more story boxes to create a short story for this particular scenario. Students are also asked to identify how the characters may be feeling by writing an emotion word in the heart shapes provided, or, simply use the heart shapes as a reminder to discuss the characters emotions as you go. Additionally, students are asked to come up with alternatives to this scenario, encouraging them to problem solve and think more deeply about how actions affect others and how others feel about the people they are interacting with.
