FREE Reading Journal for any fiction book : You and your students will enjoy using this handy reading notebook! It does indeed work well for any fiction book. I have used this packet with the book I read aloud to students each day during snack time as well as with literature circles and independent reads. Students enjoy the format, and I find it to be an easy way to engage students with text and monitor their comprehension.
The Student Reading Notebook includes…..
Two formats of chapter reflections designed to engage students in a variety of fun, quick-to-complete comprehension activities. Photocopy the amount of pages your students will need for the number of chapters in the book.
Literary device definitions and recording sheets
Vocabulary recording sheets
A character reflection
An end of the book review
Each photocopy creates two booklets. Set your copy machine to staple on the side, cut the booklet in half on the paper cutter, and add another staple or two. Repeat a few times, and you are ready to go!
Optional but helpful: Number the pages before copying for ease of reference during instruction.
