Like you, I wasn't surprised when a book of precepts, "365 Days of Wonder: Mr. Browne's Precepts," was published to accompany the novel "Wonder" by RJ Palacio.
However, my students needed scaffolding to get the most out of Mr. Browne's precepts. They had not yet learned how to break apart dense texts or to keep going past surface-level meaning.
Use one prompt per day for a week or up to four in one class. Use them to guide literature circles, paragraph writing, or both. It's up to you; you know your students best.
Don't forget to leave feedback and follow!
