I think the subject matter may have been a bit too sarcastic for some people's tastes, so I just converted this to a freebie in the hopes that you might enjoy my writing style and consider other readers' theater scripts for your elementary drama club or intermediate classroom. Of course, please do feel free to use this script if you wish. It may have been a personal vent, but it turned out to be a real hit with the children!
This script is a comedic jab at all of the so-called educational experts with revolutionary ideas that seem to appear and disappear perennially. Told as the fruition of a child's imagination in wondering what we teachers actually do on those planning days (you know, bounce houses, ice cream sundae bars...), or at least what we childlike things we might wish we could be doing if we weren't stuck in meetings (and were still 8 years old).
The play has 20 roles; 18 strong speaking roles and 2 silent mice. Performance time was approximately 40 minutes. I hope you enjoy it!
