Product Description
These posters are perfect for hanging in your classroom to track students’ progress through the writing process for any writing piece. You can place them on a wall, a bulletin board, or hang them from the ceiling! If you choose to hang them {and save some precious wall space}, you can hole punch the tops and bottoms of each poster and attach metal ring clips or ribbon to keep the posters lined up vertically.

Have your students use clothespins or sticky notes with their names on them to move from one phase in the writing process to the next. These posters make a quick and easy visual for teachers to see their students’ current status. They also provide a helpful reminder for students who are trying to remember where they finished during the previous day’s writing.

I’ve included a variety of terminology for teachers who use the writing process in different ways. My teaching partner, Heather Carrigan {Carrigan’s Creative Creations on TpT}, and I have developed the following modified writing process which students typically progress through in order (but some jumping back and forth can happen on occasion):

Planning (we don’t like the term prewriting), Drafting, Revising with a partner, Revising on my own, Editing on my own, Editing with a partner, Teacher Conference, Final Draft OR Publishing

We also like to do Quick Conferences at the beginning of independent work periods in order to allow students to ask us questions before we begin conferencing (because they are NOT allowed to interrupt our conferences).
