With school quickly approaching, I wanted to post a freebie for those of you who are scrounging for a "different" activity to use for the first day! My team has decided to leave on the students' desks this paper. We will lay out a bunch of different art materials (string, dry noodles, glue, construction paper, goggley eyes, crayons, markers, etc.) and ask students to tell us all about them. They have the option of writing in the space, drawing, or being creative with their supplies. The students are free to use any of the resources, but they must be able to explain WHAT IT MEANS and WHY they chose the materials they chose! I will have my own sample available to show kids how abstract and fun they can be! They will trace "All about me" and write their name in the blank. Then they get to go to town!
