FREEBIE: 3-Step Procedural Writing {Lesson & Mini-Book}

Take procedural writing to the next "step" with this fun freebie! Students will take a "how-to" topic and write a three-step procedural text using a cool little foldable mini-book. They'll first brainstorm all the steps needed to complete the procedure, then work to group these smaller steps into three MAIN steps.

The file includes a lesson outline, student planning page, example planning page, two versions of the 3-step mini-book, as well as assembly instructions.

Writing instructions with only three steps forces students to use skills like: determining importance, summarizing, and finding main ideas and details, all with their own ideas!
