Product Description
I made this Author’s Point of View true/false sorting activity to give my students practice evaluating and justifying answers .

After I taught and had students practice the skill, I had the students engage with this this Sorting Author's Point of View Activity
that had students read short passages and sort the passages under a biased positive, biased negative, or objective header. I determined that my students were able to distinguish the purpose the author intended, but needed more practice justifying how they knew the specific point of view/perspective.

In this product, each card includes a short informational passage, an author’s point of view question, and a made up student answer. Students are asked to read all the information on the card and then determine if the made up student answer is true/false and place it under the correct header. On the provided recording sheet, the students need to mark the card number down under the true/ false column. If they believe the made up student answer is false, they have to justify why the answer is false and provide the correct answer on the recording sheet.

This true/false sort can be used with your students to:
→ model your thinking
→ practice with partners thinking aloud
→ enrich critical thinking/problem-solving skills
→ practice justifying reasoning through written response

This true/false sort activity is perfect for:
→ rotations
→ independent practice
→ partner activities
→ enrichment
→ authentic assessments
