My class loves to play BINGO, so I made this Dr. Seuss (cut and paste) version to help us celebrate Dr. Seuss and Read Across America. I would like to share it with you. I hope your class likes it!
This download includes a 25 word BINGO grid (one space is a FREE SPACE) and 30 word cards that are related to Dr. Seuss and Read Across America. The students will cut out the words, choose 24 of them, and paste them randomly on the grid. The unused words are discarded. (I have the students paste them in the morning so that we can use them in the afternoon.)
The teacher or the “caller” shuffles the 30 flashcards or calling cards and calls a word out, giving students ample time to locate and cover the word on their grid with a Bingo chip, penny, or counting cube. The first player to get 5 in a row (vertically, horizontally, or diagonally) wins! (I allow the winner to pick a prize from the prize box and be the “caller” for the next game. They love that!)
If you want to save paper, you may laminate the game sheets and use dry erase markers on them. I put the laminated game sheets and flashcards at a learning center after we play as a whole group. My students enjoy playing in small groups with their classmates.
So grab some Bingo chips and have fun!
Have a wonderful celebration!
