In an effort to incorporate the new Common Core Standards and integrate problem solving, writing, and test-taking strategies into my curriculum I have created theme-based assessments and activities for my Kindergarten class. Assessments are tied to common core science standards and can be used as a modeled or shared writing experience, hands-on experiment or unit assessment.
This set includes:
1 Science Theme-Based Activity
1 Science Extended Response Question
*Both in Color and B/W
PS1.A Matter exists as different substances that have observable different properties. Different properties are suited to different purposes. Objects can be built up from smaller parts.
ETS1.A Asking questions, making observations, and gathering information are helpful in thinking about problems.
ETS1.B Designs can be conveyed through sketches, drawings, or physical models. These representations are useful in communicating ideas for a problem’s solutions to other people.
