FREEBIE Letter Names & Sounds Writing Strips Sets
Thanks so much for viewing this freebie! If you have followed me for long you have most likely heard of my writing strips! I use these strips daily during my guided reading groups. I have so many different versions of strips that I have made that my students never get bored with it! They actually love the activity mostly because it requires whiteboards & dry erase markers! What kid doesn't love that? The idea behind it is you present the student with a strip and they work independently to complete the strip, then they quietly switch with a friend at the table that is also done. Once we got the routine down this actually worked well. These particular strips I made for the beginning of the year; Letter Names & Letter Sounds. They are “basic” in the fact they don’t require much prep from you, but trust me when I say they can be used over and over again. I have also heard from several teachers that choose to use these strips in other parts of their day as well. These strips are best used if printed on cardstock and laminated. Okay, on with these freebie strips! Below I will explain how to use each strip, but you will most likely come up with your own version as well!
This activity would also work great as a literacy center or writing center task.
