While I (along with all of my students) love open-ended reinforcers such as “roll and covers,” I wanted to try something a little different for our therapy sessions. I created these sheets as a way to reinforce each particular target while providing additional speech or language practice. Each sheet can also be used as review from the session or homework. Generally speaking, the “Speech Seeks” provide articulation reinforcement and the “Language Looks” provide vocabulary reinforcement; however, both could be adapted to reinforce other speech and language objectives.

Instructions for use:
Print a sheet containing the desired target for each student. After students complete their target goals, give them 30 seconds to find pictures containing their sounds or target vocabulary. Repeat following each students’ speech turn. Students may try to beat their own numbers each time, or they can play against one another and find out who can get the most before the end of the session. Each sheet also has an optional activity at the bottom of the page for review or homework. Word lists are also included with each set.
These sheets are intended for additional reinforcement and practice of targets. Therefore, you will find targeted sounds in various positions including blends in each Speech Seek. Each Speech Seek contains at least five words to target /r, s, l, k, f/.
