Here's a sample of my new Reading Rabbit Sight Word Sentences! I plan to make them for all the sight words, really hope you all like these! ^^
5 SIGHT WORDS IN THIS SET:
the, of, and, a, to
Sight Word Sentence Sheets for reading practice.
This is for beginner and early readers to support sight words learned in class.
The sentences are Level 1; repetitive in design (so the words can be firmly imprinted into the students brains!)
If you have slower readers, this is especially helpful for them. A lot of late blooming readers need just a little more time (and use sentence patterns) for them to catch on.
Students find stability in the repeated formats and once familiarity is built, your class will be hopping with confident reading rabbits!!
Ideas for use:
As you teach your focus sight words to students, hand out the sentence sheets and introduce the sentences to the students. I suggest you go over them together so the students have an idea of how each word should be read.
You can then have students read them in literacy centers, individual work, or in groups. I like to send these home as homework. The 6 repeated stars at the top of the page are so students can color in whenever they read the sentences. I have no added directions because each teacher has their own preference (color in after you read one sentence, all sentences, etc.)
Practice really goes make perfect (or at least pretty darn good!). As students go over these sentences and complete each sheet, they will gain better reading fluency and grow their sight word vocabulary day by day.
