FRENCH -ER VERBS IMPERFECT TENSE CONJUGATION WORKBOOK. The workbook has 25 high-frequency -ER verbs, with 150 quick conjugations and 3 differentiated conjugation challenges. I always give my students an answer key for this kind of workbook - they like to learn independently, and they can both self and peer assess with the key - and it also gives them another opportunity to practice conjugating the verbs. The quick recall conjugations are really popular with my students, and we use them in a range of learning contexts, such as practice during the introductory phase, free-choice activity in class time, home learning or sub lessons.
I structure the workbooks like this:
* Two alphabetical verb reference lists: FRENCH-ENGLISH and ENGLISH-FRENCH, useful for longer-term reference too
* Three differentiated conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations:
CHALLENGE 1: each verb conjugated in FRENCH across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding ENGLISH verb conjugation.
CHALLENGE 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in FRENCH, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in FRENCH.
CHALLENGE 3: students write the corresponding FRENCH verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an ENGLISH prompt.
I use the NOTES & NEXT STEPS template to encourage my students to reflect on their progress - we revisit the conjugations, and the NOTES AND NEXT STEPS, regularly - sometimes students haven't quite embedded learning before it's time to move on, so revisiting for 10-minute 'chunks' is really popular with them. The answer key has six pages and is in booklet format.
This consists of 3 non-editable files in a zipped format. If you're having a learning focus on -ER verbs, have a look at the bundle of 6 workbooks with the present, near and simple future, perfect, imperfect and conditional tenses for $10.00:
