Grade 4 Early Societies based on the 2013 Social Studies Curriculum. This is meant to supplement your own unit plan, as it is now an inquiry-based curriculum. This product had opportunities for your students to lead the inquiry process!
I approached this new curriculum using both a guided-inquiry portion, as well as independent-inquiry portion. The first part of my unit is about Medieval Times where we participate in guided inquiry. The students start brainstorming questions and are able to practice skills such as pulling out important information from texts. This aids in their independent researching skills, which they do with an early society of their choice (or your's!)
