FRENCH GRAMMAR PRESENT TENSE CONJUGATION - FRENCH REGULAR & IRREGULAR -IR & -OIR VERBS WORKBOOKS PRESENT TENSE focusing on 25 high-frequency French -IR and -OIR verbs, 150 differentiated quick conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer key booklet
This ten-page 'quick conjugation' workbook is really popular with my students - they like to work independently, practicing and revising how to conjugate French -re verbs - I’ve included some modals, and a mix of regular and irregular verbs, as I’ve found that this really helps them to recognize and predict conjugation patterns. I always give them an answer key - that gives them further opportunity to engage with the conjugations, and they enjoy checking their own or each other’s work. The answer key is also in booklet format, and has six pages. I tend to have folders with a range of quick conjugation workbooks ready for them to select during free-choice time. The workbook is really versatile, and I use them in lots of different contexts - homework, holiday refresher and revision work, cover lessons and so on.
There are three differentiated conjugation challenges:
Conjugation Challenge One:
verbs are conjugated in French across a range of pronouns - students write the corresponding English verb conjugation.
Conjugation Challenge Two:
here I’ve given the French infinitive, and specified the target pronoun. Students then write the corresponding verb conjugation in French.
Conjugation Challenge Three:
I’ve given an English prompt, and students write the corresponding French verb conjugation, and its infinitive form - this is particularly useful for those students who haven’t quite learnt the infinitives, and tend to recognize only single, individual conjugations.
The workbook also has a Notes and Next Steps page - I encourage my students to make notes, and think about how they’re progressing, so that they can decide what they need to focus on for additional practice and revision. There are two alphabetical French-English, English-French reference lists too.
There are 3 non-editable files in a zip file. The resource is copyright, all rights reserved - it may not be shared, distributed, copied or rewritten in any way. The license is a single-user license only.
