FRENCH Numbers 0-31 games and activities mini-pack comprises a range of interactive and communicative alternatives to more traditional vocabulary ‘drilling’ tasks, which really do help to create a lively language learning environment.
The mini-pack includes opportunities for whole-group, small group and pair work, enabling students to learn independently of the teacher. They’re just right for building, reinforcing and refreshing vocabulary, as well as practicing reading, listening, speaking and pronunciation. The game cards are very versatile, and I’ve described a number of games you and your students can play with them in the classroom. The games are great to play when both you and your students need some 'down-time' from other learning topics, while still retaining a FRENCH ambiance!
The pack features the following non-editable resources:
1. A set of game cards in FRENCH and English, Numbers 0-31,
one set with a FRENCH-themed backing, one without
2. A set of FRENCH-only game cards, Numbers 0-31
3. A whole-group practice/refresher/quick quiz presentation -
I've also included a pdf version of this activity - if you're
homeschooling, you'll be able to play it on a tablet or similar
4. A booklet which includes all numbers written out in full,
forwards and backwards, in both FRENCH and
English. To accompany this reference resource, there are
eight RECALL AND WRITE activities to really embed those
numbers and practice some spot-on spelling!
I’ve described the resource as suitable for ages Grades 3-8, but 'older' students enjoy the games too - they're a great way of working with FRENCH and enhancing a range of skills.
The game cards do take a bit of prep – printing, laminating and cutting out. Laminating is certainly worth the effort and expense, as you will be able to re-use the cards for many years to come.
Print out and photocopy an appropriate number of reference/recall and write activity booklets, preferably on a copier that has a double-sided/staple function - double staples down the left-hand side are more reader, writer and learner friendly.
The practice/refresher/quick quiz presentation requires no prep, and is simply ready to go!
Merci beaucoup et bon divertissement !
